The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals to win the series 4-1 and claim a league-record 18th NBA title.

The Celtics took control of the game with a dominant 2-minute span in the third quarter. During that span, they went on a 10-0 run to take a 15-point lead, and they never looked back.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jaylen Brown added 21 points, and Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 26 points, but he was not enough to overcome the Celtics' balanced attack.

The Celtics' victory is their first NBA title since 2008. It is also the first time that they have won the title in front of their home crowd since 1986.
