WNBA Announces 2023 Regular Season Schedule
League to Celebrate 27th Season with Expanded National TV Coverage
Increased Viewership and Attendance Mark Successes for WNBA
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) has unveiled its schedule for the 2023 regular season, promising an exciting slate of games and continued growth for the league. The 27th season will tip off on May 19th, marking a historic milestone for the WNBA.
The league has experienced unparalleled success in recent years, with the 2022 season posting the most-watched regular season in 21 years and the highest total attendance in 13 years. This momentum continues into 2023, with an expanded national TV schedule featuring more games on ABC, ESPN, CBS, Ion TV, and Paramount Plus.
"We are thrilled to announce our 2023 schedule and share it with our fans," said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert. "The league has made significant strides in recent years, and we are confident that this season will be another memorable one."
The season will kick off with a doubleheader on May 19th, featuring the defending champion Chicago Sky hosting the Las Vegas Aces, and the Los Angeles Sparks welcoming the Indiana Fever. The New York Liberty will host the Seattle Storm in their home opener on May 21st.
Throughout the season, fans will be treated to a variety of marquee matchups, including the WNBA Finals rematch between the Sky and Aces, and a highly anticipated clash between the Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx.
The regular season will conclude on August 13th, with the playoffs set to begin on August 16th. The WNBA Finals is scheduled for October 11th.
